1. During the Scotch Cup and from the start of the official World Championships (Air Canada Silver Broom) in 1968 until 1985 no bronze medals were awarded at all.  Only the two finalist teams got medals.

 

2. From 1986 to 1988 and since 1995 there has been a bronze medal game.  During the years 1989-94 both losers of the semi-final games were awarded bronze medals.
