2003
CONTINENTAL CUP OF CURLING
RULES/SCORING:
The Continental
Cup is a unique Ryder Cup style competition, with players competing in
men's, women's and mixed events which challenge the skills of the game's
premier shotmakers. Prior to Regina 2002, the top men's and women's curlers
from North America had never played together on the same teams, let alone
in international competition against the best players from elsewhere in
the world. |
The Continental
Cup brings together 12 of the best curling teams in the world to compete
in a unique competition. The event is a points competition with a total
of 400 points available for play from the four types of competition within
the curling discipline mixed doubles, singles, team and skins. When the
competition is completed, the side with the most accumulated points will
be declared the winner and awarded the Continental Cup trophy and $125,000
Cdn. The runner-up side will receive $75,000 Cdn. |
